Baptism is the sacrament by which the Lord gives our souls the new life of sanctifying grace, and we become children of God and heirs of heaven. We are cleansed of the stain of original sin, and enter into communion with the Lord. Baptism is the gateway to the life of grace, and to eternal life!
At Saint Mary’s, Baptism of young children is celebrated throughout the year – occasionally on the first Sunday of the month at the 11am Mass, and other times at the convenience of the family and parish.
Parents who desire Baptism for their child receive instruction in our Baptismal Prep classes.

Scripture Passages about Baptism:
“Peter [said] to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call.” – Acts 2:37-38
“Jesus answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.’ – John 3:5
